Tranquil Moments

"Tranquil Moments" is very much an improvisation that really came to life by accident. At the time I was working on a more ambient keyboard piece of music, and happened to be searching through my Camel Audio Alchemy libraries to see if I could find some suitable patches for the piece. As I searched through the keyboard section in the main factory library I stumbled upon its grand piano. I knew it was not was I was looking for but thought I would try it out regardless.

As soon as I started playing I just loved the ambience that was projecting from the sound of it. As I already had Cubase opened up, I simply muted all my tracks and used a new track to record on, and I simply hit the record button and played away. It was very much the sound of the patch itself that inspired me to play what I played in that 2 minutes and 48 seconds.

To be honest at the time I did not think a lot of it, but felt I would put it on Soundcloud mainly to show people how good that patch really was they had in Camel Audio. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the feedback it got and will never forget it.

The piece itself was recorded on Saturday the 3rd of March 2012. It perhaps feels out of place on this album with its ambience, but as it got so much feedback I wanted to include it, and decided to place it right in the middle of the other 10 piano pieces as a breaking point, and felt it worked that way as well.
