I got myself reprimanded cause I would not go to school
they took me from my family (said boy your such a fool)
now I'm spending time looking through barred windows in a dormitory
shared by sixteen others (who have done far more worse than me)

When the morning came (they said I had to do my chores)
they gave me spit and polish said now go and clean all the corridors
they even had a built in school (told me that would pass my time)
gave me 30 shillings a week and told me I would do just fine
