about

A folk song based around the subject matter of the Japanese art of mending broken pottery known as Kintsukuroi.

lyrics

The broken pieces shatter
and crumble on the floor
that precious piece held history
from where it stood before

Somewhere in that moment
there's a spark that lights a flame
a certain passion, creativeness
ignites inside her brain

She gathers up the pieces
to rebuild them once again
assembling generations
with every piece she starts to mend

She sprinkles in some gold dust
adds her own artistic touch
mixes it with lacquer
and applies it with a brush

(Break)

That little piece of history
now stands back on the shelf
restoring generations
she did all by herself
By herself.
