I awoke this morning on the wrong side of town
dressed like an hobo torn jeans and hand me downs
got into a sloop from the night before
the room just kept on spinning as I hit the floor

Now I have a problem as I've crossed another line
these folks don't take to the likes of a southern man
if I get found I'm going down
all for the prank of a local clown

They don't take bums, no ill forgotten strays
they don't take no wino's, geeks punks or slime
they don't stand for nothing, at any time
here on this side of west county borderline

I need to pull myself together before I get found
can't be seen here sure cant' hang around
if they catch me I'm sure gonna get burned
they don't take too kindly lessons soon get learned

Maybe if I'm lucky there be no one around
and I can make it back home safe and sound
